PMI MENA chapter is one of 251 charter-based local chapters and 7 Potential chapters existing in 90 countries all over the world and following the mother organization PMI

MENA Chapter has been charted since October 1998 during the PMI Leadership Meeting in Long Beach, California, USA to enhance and develop the Project Management Professionalism in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The Arab Contractors has believed the importance of the discipline of Project Management for over the past three decades. It believes the only way out of the ever-rising competition of globalization is through the development of cooperation and mutual understanding between different cultures.

In light of this belief, the Arab Contractors established a link with the Project Management Institute which led to the birth of PMI MENA.

PMI charter an agreement outline the responsibilities of the component Project Management Institute Middle East North Africa (MENA) Chapter and PMI to one another.

 

The Charter agreement shall renew and remain in force and effect each year following receipt and acceptance by PMI Headquarters of required documentation, demonstrating that the component has satisfied the minimum standard component performance criteria established by PMI.

Component renewals are subject to satisfactory review and subsequent acceptance by PMI Headquarters of component governing documents to ensure that those documents do not conflict with PMI's Bylaws, policies, practices, procedures, rules and directives.

The component may engage in contracts or transaction with members, elected officers or directors of the Board, appointed committee members or authorized representatives of the component and any corporation, partnership, association or other organization
