Windows 8 is a completely reimagined Windows. You can code once and have a great app experience that scales across devices from tablets to all-in-one PCs, from 10" to 27" screen sizes. The new Windows Store provides flexibility for selling your app and higher profit potential than any other App Store – with an 80% revenue share when you reach $25,000 USD or more in total sales. Windows Runtime gives you the flexibility to build native apps using C#, C++ and JavaScript. Or you can build apps using web technologies like HTML5, Level 3 (CSS3).

Innovate... Build... And Exhibit your apps in the biggest Apps Exhibition promoting Egyptian developers from all over Egypt to the most well-known investment firms.

On the Exhibition day 5th of June 2013, we will announce the Winning app that will be promoted in the Spotlight section (Featured) in the Egyptian Windows Store.

Steps to join the contest:

-          Go to Codevnext.com and register your application prototype under “Paint your future with apps in style” contest.
-          Publish on Windows 8 Store. (Egypt must be the country set for this account)

Apps published before 5th of April 2013 or after 27th of May 2013 will not be considered. (Please note that the publishing cycle takes 5 days minimum).

-          Once the app is published, you receive an email from the store containing the online link for the application. Please forward this email to: azzae@microsoft.com (This is the ONLY way to get the application counted in the contest).
-          On 28th of May 2013, we will be checking all applications submitted in this contest and published on the Windows Store, Top apps will be selected based on the below to join our biggest Apps Exhibition in Cairo:
Apps selection criteria:
1-      The app should follow Windows 8 Design Guidelines
2-      The app should Leverage Windows 8 capabilities where possible (Live Tiles, Search Contract, Share Contract, Semantic Zoom … etc).
3-      Application impact in the store (highest no. of downloads & highest rating).
4-      Local relevance is a plus.

Notes:
1-      To create an individual developer account, please go to: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/default
Sign in go to the Dashboard and complete the wizard.
2-      It will cost you an annual fee of 300 EGP for individual account and 600 EGP for company account, paid through a normal Credit Card.
3-      Debit Cards/pre-paid cards like Visa Electron will not work.
4-      Promotional Credit Cards or Cards with security chips, may not work either.
